No, the whole ethos behind ProBo is to be a force for good in business, and to help collaborative small business leaders lift your businesses with simple but important help and advice you need to thrive, but cashflow may prohibit you from buying. Instead of paying for it you pay it forward by helping other members who will benefit from a few minutes of your own time, expertise and advice.

No you must not actively promote your business with the aim of obtaining paid work when responding to a ProBit request. If we see anyone doing this we may need to restrict their site access as no-one come to ProBo to be sold to. However, similarly to when you pitch for new paid work, by answering a ProBit request you are demonstrating your skills and abilities to potential future clients and is a highly effective way of marketing your business in a more innovative and practical way.

Can I choose who answers my ProBit request?2021-09-13T14:58:54+00:00

If more than 1 member volunteers to respond to your ProBit request you can choose who to pursue the conversation with. ProBo is a community with a wide range of capabilities so you may well get different approaches. Decide which one you think is best for you but please be respectful of everyone who has offered to help. It is only through crowd power and their offer to share help and advice that everyone’s business benefits.

It’s perfectly understandable that you may prefer your conversation to be carried our more confidentially, and can therefore make use of the ProBo 1-2-1 messaging system in order to do this. Once the ProBit has been solved privately you can decide whether to place the solution back into the public arena, so that others with a similar issue may benefit from it.

After every ProBit is solved, both members are asked to rate the experience, which will contribute to all members own personal rating, and will be published on their profile page. Before engaging with other members, we would recommend you to view their profile page and decide whether they feel like the right person for you to engage with.

Absolutely not! ProBo is not designed to replace paid work but to fill the void where small businesses need simple, non-time consuming but important help and advice, but do not have the cashflow to be able to justify paying for it. Many industries offer a certain amount of free work as a matter of course, particularly when pitching for contracts. ProBo’s aim is to widen this out so that smaller businesses are able to benefit in the same way as larger businesses so often do.

And don’t forget, every time you help someone else out, you are not only making a big difference to them but also showing them how good you are at what you do!
